FARLEY WOOD

Key benefits of our nursery at Farley Wood

  1.  We have a highly motivated and highly qualified staff team who provide excellent care on an individual and inclusive basis. All our staff regularly access training to update and further their skills.

  2. Our Deputy Manager holds a Bachelor of Arts in Children’s Learning & Development and we have a Qualified Early Years Teacher.

  3. All staff hold a Pediatric First Aid Certificate.

  4. We have a specialist speech and language lead who holds the ELKLAN qualification.

  5. We were rated a high GOOD in our last Ofsted inspection in February 2020.

  6. We have a newly built and secure outside play area.

  7. We offer soft play to promote children’s physical development.

  8. We offer ‘’Aldance’-themed music classes and ‘Playball’ as extra curriculum activities.

  9. FREE ‘Phonics with Robot Reg’ for all children who attend nursery on a Friday morning to support children’s communication and language skills.

  10. FREE Toddler Yoga sessions to support children’s well-being.

  11. Our aim is ‘Learning is Fun.’ First and foremost, we want children to enjoy their learning experiences in a caring and nurturing environment.

  12. We have a large car park area allowing ample space for drop-off and collection.

  13. Each child is treated as an individual, and we plan activities according to each of their individual needs.

  14. The nursery has the use of a large playing field, play park, and wooded area; these are all used for our activities alongside the free-flow patio, which is securely fenced.

  15. Our activities include nature walks, a library book scheme, and stay-and-play sessions for parents and families throughout the year. We offer extracurricular activities, including an annual summer outing, local day trips, and a sports stay and play.

  16. We hold termly parents’ meetings where parents and carers can meet with their child’s key person to discuss their child’s progress and development and plan in partnership for their child’s next steps of learning.

  17. We have an open-door policy allowing parents and carers to visit at any time during the nursery session. We provide opportunities for parents and carers to take part in activities in the nursery and to help with outings and fundraising.

  18. We hold a gold award for healthy eating and 5 stars for environmental health. Snacks are prepared freshly every day; we encourage the children to learn about healthy food and its benefits.
