MARTINS HERON

Key benefits of our nursery at Martin’s Heron

  1. We have a fully qualified staff team who provide quality care and learning for your child.

  2. We are rated OUTSTANDING for Personal development, welfare and behaviour of children by Ofsted, with an overall GOOD judgement.

  3. The government requires a minimum of 50% of nursery staff to hold a childcare qualification; 100% of our staff are fully qualified.

  4. We have a large car park area for parents; making drop-off and pick-up very easy.

  5. Our location, alongside the Tesco Superstore, is very convenient for parents’ and carers’ shopping.

  6. The nursery has a secluded soft matted outside play area offering different areas for the children to explore outdoor learning opportunities.

  7. Soft play available and FREE daily yoga sessions to enhance children's well-being.

  8. Each child is treated as an individual and we plan activities according to each their individual needs and interests.

  9. Our activities include nature walks in the garden, looking after the flowers/vegetables and enjoying the library area. We offer an annual summer outing, sports day and visits to the pantomime. We also offer special assemblies for parents and carers to attend throughout the year.

  10. We work closely with Tesco where children learn where their food comes from and about healthy food choices.

  11. We hold termly parents’ focus meetings where parents and carers can meet with their child’s Key Person to discuss their progress and development.

  12. We have an open door policy allowing parents and carers to visit at any time during the nursery session.

  13. We hold a 5* food hygiene award and a gold award for healthy eating. Snacks are prepared freshly every day and we encourage the children to eat healthily.   We support each individual child to be involved in their own food preparation.

  14. The nursery holds termly coffee mornings, where parents and carers can meet to make new friends and discuss what their children are doing.

  15. We provide opportunities for parents and carers to take part in activities in the nursery and to help with outings and fund raising.
